"A feature on Kay Thompson's surprising career. In addition to performing and arranging music for films, she also wrote the series of Eloise children's books. Fascinating woman!"

she was also liza minelli's godmother--act two of liza at the palace (her recent bway show) was all about kay...she talked about eloise, funny face and how kay discovered the williams brothers (of andy fame)

agreed-- a fascinating woman

Another one you've made me want to rewatch!

I know a lot more Gershwin now than I did when I saw this as a teenager, so I'm sure I'd appreciate it even more. I remember it being gorgeous and witty. . .when they're doing the photoshoot in the train station; he asks her to look like Anna Karenina and she says, "Do you want me to throw myself in front of the train?"

Lovely stuff.
