All the hyperactivity of the movie seems to work well for kids. My seven year old nephew liked the film and only got bored at the Gloria storyline. (Sorry, he’s still too young for romance.) He liked a lot of the silly jokes too.

I liked the first film better, I thought it was more character focused and the plot was tighter.

I do love the penguins. They steal the movie. The monkeys are a close second with the dichotomy of sophistication and instinctual monkey behavior. (This is best seen in the first film. Where they’re sipping cocktails once second and talking about fling poo the next.)

It was cute, and the penguins were incredibly funny. (I’d watch something with just them) Yet the movie was just so odd that I feel no need to see it again.

I had fun on the date, though that had nothing to do with the movie.:) (oddly the movie’s DVD commercial came on while I wrote this)
