Death Note: L, change the WorLd on Screens April 29 and 30
Posted in Manga News, Movies/TV on March 24, 2009 by JohannaA third live-action Death Note movie, Death Note: L, change the WorLd, will be in selected theaters at the end of April.

If you want to watch it with subtitles, go April 29; the English-dubbed version airs April 30. The original storyline is not adapted from the manga but tells a new story. From the press release:
The story begins as L takes on the “Kira” case, in which countless criminals are dying under mysterious circumstances. L successfully solves the case and stops Kira, but only after sacrificing his life, leaving himself with only 23 days left to live. For his final case L faces down a bio-terrorist group trying to wipe out humanity with a deadly virus ten times more potent than Ebola. As L tries to formulate an antidote with a scientist, he must also save the lives of two children who have no one else to turn to.
Tickets are available through Fathom Events. Here are theaters for subtitles and dubbing. In the second version, Alessandro Juliani voices L; he also provided the voice in the anime series. The film is unrated but is considered to be equivalent to an R.

I wish they got someone better to play L. This guy doesn’t even look as good as some cosplayers. :/

Still….
At least L looks like L!
I mean just look at Near and Mello.
*cringes* Was the wig shop closed?
If they HAD to make Mello a girl couldn’t it be a BLOND girl?!
(Misa was one thing they got away with)
And it’s not the same without albino Near….T^T

What? It’s mean to say that Kenichi Matsuyama is not fit to play L. He’s the best actor i ever known. If you know his real personality, you’ll know the difference between him and L!!!

I think in this movie you are able to get a little more insite to L and why he acts the way he does and how even though he may seem emotionless he has anormal side that certain people oversee he shows compassion and love. We can also see from this movie L’s love for children like in the scene when he was at the nursery and he walked straight in front of all those kids that was really influencing to me to see L do something he never done before.
