In March 2008, comic book retailer Michael George was found guilty of murder for killing his wife Barbara 18 years before. In September, a judge overturned the jury verdict.

Last week, the Michigan Supreme Court sent the case to appellate court (link no longer available) where “lawyers would face months of brief-writing and oral arguments before the higher court decided whether Michael George gets a new trial.” In the meantime, George has to stay in jail; his motion for bond was denied. According to one lawyer, the appeal hearing could take “months”.
