I have all 4 books of the series, and I must say they are all you need to learn graphic novel creation from scratch to finish, whether traditionally or digitally. Great books, quite complete on all topics, good for any book illustration for that matter!

Thanks so much for clarifying that for me. I can't keep up with the various book publisher imprints and acquisitions!

"And the series isn't done yet: The DC Comics Guide to Digitally Drawing Comics is due out later this year. The publisher says this month, but Amazon says September."

I'll wager that that September date is more correct. The Random House site shows the September date (Watson-Guptill having been purchased by Random House about a year ago.) So perhaps the previous publisher site isn't updating as accurately as once it did.

[Disclosure: I used to be employed by Watson-Guptill a long while ago, long before the acquisition by Random House, and am now employed by Random House, by a completely separate division that has nothing to do with Watson-Guptill.)
