Shout! Factory is so cool. They’ve posted a page showing how the Middleman DVD package art was created. I actually like some of the first round choices better than the eventual version, shown here, but I’m already a devoted fan of the series. Emphasizing the action over the fun or comedy will probably be more attractive to the young male audience who drives the DVD market.

The DVD set is due out July 28. You should all buy it!

Did they ever even film the last episode at all and will it be on the DVD set?

As I understand it, they didn’t film episode 13 because they used the money to make the season-ending 12 better. So 12 episodes is all we got, and they’ll all be on the DVD. But some of the many extras might talk more about that decision.
