If you ever thought Buffy the Vampire Slayer would be even cooler if Buffy was a Japanese schoolgirl doing stylized wirework martial arts, have I got the film for you.
Blood: The Last Vampire is about a schoolgirl who’s more than human, a samurai, and out to kill “the deadliest vampire of all” with the help of The Council. It’s based on an anime film from 2000 and set on a U.S. military base. I can’t find an official release date (never a good sign) other than “this summer”.
Do you think there’s an audience for this? There already seem to be a lot of action movies due out this year; will this find an audience in a crowded market? I find the tagline “Now that she’s here, there will be blood” laughably cheesy.
