This is almost so expected as to not be news, but I like the way NPR is promoting reading this summer. They’ve just put up a whole Summer Books feature section, with a number of recommendation lists.
The Best Fiction list includes Gabrielle Bell’s anthology Cecil and Jordan in New York, complete with excerpt.
Books We Like lists Ariel Schrag’s Likewise, also with sample pages.
Funniest of all, the My Guilty Pleasure feature, “in which notable writers reveal the books they’re embarrassed to love”, launches this afternoon. The first segment will feature mystery novel and superhero comic writer Brad Meltzer praising girly vampire series Twilight.

Meltzer liking Twilight explains so much.
