To promote the upcoming (June 16) Blu-Ray release of comedy classic Ghostbusters, Sony has created the website GhostbustersIsHiring.com. It’s got a new promo clip of Harold Ramis (looking very different from the movie, duh, since it was 25 years ago), a $5 off coupon, and a chance to win a trip to the San Diego Comic-Con.

My goodness, the trailer brings back memories. Now “digitally remastered”, they’re also promising a behind-the-scenes featurette about the refurbishment of Ecto-1 (the car).

I have pics of the car out on the Sony lot somewhere. I live right around the corner from the lot and noticed years ago that the car was just parked outside on the southwest corner of the lot — you could see it from one of the gates. I always thought it was weird they were just letting this sit outside.

That’s a cool story! One of the clips talks about Cinema Vehicle Services being able to provide all kinds of cars. I never thought about the logistics of that kind of business before — the storage needs would be astounding.
