Oh, I wouldn't recommend Sloth at all -- I found it unfocused and pretentious.

I don't know about other Satrapi works, sorry.

Yeah, this book rules. :) Also, I'd recommend Sloth by Gilbert Hernandez for anyone who likes this and vice-versa. Like Chicken with Plums it's B&W and has a string musician escaping a life he finds bleak through, um, sleeping - only this time he's a guitarist in a present-day American suburb instead of a tar player in 1958 Tehran.

Meanwhile, do you know if Satrapi has any other translations into English coming up? So far I know she's released The Complete Persepolis (also see Persepolis 2.1: The Story of a Signing by Gordon McAlpin - He transcribed one of her bookstore speech and Q&A sessions and illustrated it in her style), Embroideries, a chapter in My Sister, Guard Your Veil; My Brother, Guard Your Eyes : Uncensored Iranian Voices edited by Lila Azam Zanganeh, and the children's book Monsters Are Afraid of the Moon.
