I have an 8 year old who could answer the “why” question. Her hear popped off and flew around the room when I told her there would be new Bone stories. My 11 year old was also quite pleased. Personally, I’m excited to have more intelligent and entertaining books I can read with my kids.

I suspect plenty of fans would enjoy reading more stories with the characters — maybe flashbacks, to fill in more of their lives before. (That con artist Bone, you could tell tons of stand-alone stories about his attempted schemes and how he got his comeuppance.) And certainly, the books will sell well.

I mean, I’m not, grargh-how-dare-they or anything, but… well, why? There were nine volumes. Two spin-off minis. The story’s over, and more than that, it’s complete. I can’t think of anything more that needs to be told, so… why?

I could be mistaken but didn’t Sniegorski co-write STUPID, STUPID RAT TALES, one of the spinoff Bone miniseries– the one featuring tall tales of one of the Bone’s ancestors? I don’t think his being the writer comes out of no where.

I wonder what this means for production on Rasl?
