KC - I hope you are well! And I'm very glad you've reviewed this set. I've been pounding the drum for this series along with some classic comedy friends for quite some time now. The phrase "underrated" has been so overused in recent years as to almost be a cliché, but in this case, I have to say that George O'Hanlon was truly one of the most underrated comedians of all time. His facial expressions and vocal inflections are nothing short of brilliant - especially when you consider that these were 10 minute shorts that compressed so many ideas, gags and plot elements into such a short running time! O'Hanlon's face, voice and body language were like a fast-paced short-hand putting all these elements over with speed. Of course, as you point out he wasn't always the whole show - sometimes there was an equally game supporting cast and of course director Bare needs to get credit for keeping these moving. But O'Hanlon even wrote or co-wrote many of these and I wouldn't be surprised if he directed a scene or two (uncredited of course). The best thing that I've found with these shorts is that I can show them to just about anyone and the response is usually the same: people are stunned at just how good these shorts are, and how much they laugh at them. Kudos to WB for getting these out there!
