2009 Webcomic Roundtable

I was honored to participate in Comixtalk’s 2009 Roundtable, discussing issues of interest to webcomics and their creators. Several other people who know more about the subject than I also participated, including Gary Tyrrell (Fleen), Shaenon Garrity, and Brigid Alverson (Paperless Comics). Please feel free to respond there or here, especially if you think I said something stupid.

I think you did just fine!

I was surprised to learn there’s not a place keeping track of webcomics, but I guess that’s too far ranging of a project to really maintain.

One thing that did not come up–the idea of charging a small fee to view webcomics. I guess that’s not viable, really, but I wonder if/how it’s tried.

While I am doing a lot more reading online of comics, I do hope that they don’t all go the way of the iphone, or I will be in a world of hurt.

And last but not least, I have a feeling 2010 will see quite a few more books-of-webomics on my shelf, as I look to support my favorites.

Thanks for reading it and the support!
