In preparation for his upcoming review, KC and I have been watching Chuck Season 1 and 2 on DVD.
We loved them even more the second time around! When we watched them on TV, we enjoyed the blend of spy caper action and romantic comedy and geek humor, but when you watch several episodes at once, you pick up on all kinds of subtle connections and more complex things the show accomplishes.
Season 3 kicks off with a two-hour premiere on Sunday night. Once again, the creators have made an intriguing change that promises an exciting new direction. If you’re a comic media fan, note that this season will guest star both Smallville‘s Lana Lang (Kristin Kreuk) and the new Superman (Brandon Routh). Or, if you haven’t watched the show before, my old friend Alan Sepinwall gives you six reasons you should try it. And you should listen to him, because he’s an official TV critic and all. I would really like this show to keep going. Give it a try and find out why.
