Anthony Mora! Congratulations! His favorite pirate was the hero of One Piece himself, Monkey D. Luffy.

I was impressed by the variety of characters named, both real and fictional, ranging across all eras and media. A number of them I’d never heard of before (especially the historical ones), so this contest for me was both fun and educational! For my selection, I second the mentions of Kevin Kline in The Pirates of Penzance, Anne Bonny, and the Dread Pirate Roberts. But I was reminded of so many great personalities, from Han Solo to Muppet Treasure Island.
