My husband and I have been coming here since they opened. We too were frequent customers of Tenjinmura and we sad when it suddenly closed. When Wild Rice opened, we gave it a try and fell in love. Never once have we had any sushi or other entre that wasn't simply amazing. The fish always tastes extremely fresh and their flavor combinations are unbeatable. It is sad to read about people who feel like their food was less than stellar, because ours is always amazing. A lot of people mention Wasabi, and while that place is alright, in our opinion, Wild Rice blows Wasabi out of the water. You MUST give them a try.

I read good things online about Tenjinmura and was excited about their VIP club and to find a good sushi restaurant in Midlo, so I went there looking for Tenjinmura and when I found no such restaurant my wife and I figured that we would try Wild Rice. We were very pleased with the environment, however it was a bit small and probably looked more so since where Tenjinmura had habatchi tables that area was closed.

But overall the food and presentation was very good and I enjoyed some of the sushi chef’s specialty pieces. We just had sushi and were very happy. We are going to be coming back a lot in the future.

Mr. Jason, I am so sorry you got the bad experience in WildRice. And thank you for sharing the feeling to us. Please stop by there sometimes. Let me offer you a free meal. Please don't be hasitate to tell me your opinion. I am Ken, owner of WildRice.
By the way, as I know, the owner of Wasabi is also a Chinese.

Just had dinner there and tried their spicy tuna roll and peppered tuna with avacado roll. The rice was improperly prepared, the nori was not crisp, and the fish didn't taste fresh. It tasted like day old supermarket sushi. I have worked in sushi places for many years and have spent much time in japan, this place has the worst sushi I have had. It's similiar to a lot of other Chinese owned sushi places in the richmond area. For properly prepared sushi in the same area visit wasabi, Japanese owned and operated and very proper sushi.

I've eaten at Wild Rice a total of four times now since it opened, all in the past two weeks. I have to say I've had nothing but excellent experiences there. The staff is amazingly nice (though, on occasion, their accents can be a TAD difficult to understand for the untrained ear), the food is amazing and well-priced, and the atmosphere is generally very easy-going and relaxing. So far I've had sushi, miso soup, calamari, dim sum, and good-old traditional General Tso's Chicken, and I haven't been displeased with any of it. The sushi I had was especially amazing!

Wow! But so far away. And unfortunately, I can't even recommend that place to my friends who live in the Richmond area, because they are not adventurous enough in their food choices to go there. :-( Maybe next time we go to visit them, we can ditch 'em for an evening and try Wild Rice out!
