The wraparound covers are turned 90 degrees and put on one page, Diana. Glad you found my writeup helpful!

I was also blessed to be introduced to The Spirit by the Harvey reprints. I paid a nickel each for them at a local used furniture store- this was when I was VERY young, before there was such a thing as a comic book store!
Of course, as a kid living in rural MN, I had no idea of who Eisner was or of his legacy.
I found copies of both Harvey books on Ebay, signed by Eisner, for less than $10 total, not too long ago.
Just curious: how does the book handle the wraparound covers for The Spirit undergrounds?
I have a fairly comprehensive Spirit library, but I might pick this up as it has a couple things, like the NY mayor story, that I can't seem to find elsewhere.
Thanks for a thorough and insightful review!

Those Harvey Spirit reprints served as my introduction to the character, and Eisner's work. I've read almost all of the other stories that weren't in them since, and for my money the ones that appeared in those two comics were the cream of the crop. They'd definitely be going with me to the proverbial desert island...
