This is another cheat week. I talked about the final Scott Pilgrim last week (and I’m a bit annoyed at Amazon for not shipping my copy yet, since I’ve had it preordered for over a month). And I had the pleasure of already reading another outstanding release this week, The Terrible Axe-Man of New Orleans, thanks to the generosity of NBM. If I hadn’t, that would be my $15 purchase (although it’s $16).

So what would I buy this week? I’m not sure. The books I’m most curious about, I would flip through to see if they live up to their promise. Those two titles are Welcome to Tranquility: One Foot in the Grave #1 and Age of Heroes #3. I’d be more confident about them if they weren’t each $4, which just seems like much too much for a periodical comic to me. So they’d need to sell me once they were in my hands… but I’m not the one that goes to the shop, unfortunately.

I’m happy to see a new issue of Tiny Titans, #30, at $3, and I’ll probably wind up with an Avengers issue or two, because KC and I both enjoy them. I’m just struggling with how many Marvel issues are $4 these days, because it doesn’t take me any longer to read them.

Sorry I’m not more optimistic this week. I’ve got plenty of stockpiled manga and graphic novels to cheer me up, though, while much of the industry jets out to California.
