I don’t normally run these “we’re going to release more manga” press releases, because that’s what a manga company is supposed to do, but given some of the industry changes lately, I’m just glad to see they’re still around.
And their method of announcement was fun, too — they put anagrams and clues on Twitter. From their press release:
Seven Seas is now pleased to confirm that it has licensed the following manga:
* Amnesia Labyrinth (volume 1 coming February 2011)
From Nagaru Tanigawa, the author of the acclaimed The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya series, comes a new offbeat tale of murder and demented love!
* ToraDora! (volume 1 coming March 2011)
Ryuji Takasu has learned the hard way that appearances can be deceiving. For despite his inwardly sweet personality, his unintentionally sharp gaze and aggressive features give him the air of a delinquent thug, putting his chances at making new friends, let alone a girlfriend, next to zero.
* A Certain Scientific Railgun (volume 1 coming June 2011)
Welcome to a world where mysticism and science collide, and supernatural powers are derived from either science or religion. At the heart of this world is Academy City, an advanced metropolis whose population is comprised mostly of students. The majority of students are enrolled in the city’s “Power Curriculum Program,” where they must learn to master their latent psychic powers.
Subsequent volumes in each series will follow every 3-4 months.
You can read more about these series in the press release at the company’s website.Similar Posts: Good Comics Out February 22: The Longest-Running US Manga and More § Religion in Comics Conference § Good Comics Out January 2: Manga Classics and Comic Strip History § Mecha Manga Bible Heroes Returns § High School Debut Manga Omnibus Edition to Include New Material
