Anthony, it seems that no one gets a cartoon these days without some kind of Superman or Batman tie-in, because they’re relying on the big names to draw attention.

James, someone who has read more Jonah Hex than I will have to answer that. I think he is just a scarred cowboy at heart, but he’s also the longest lasting Western character in the DCU, and he’s had some other types of stories, including post-apocalyptic.

Looks nifty. I wonder if we’ll ever see DVD/Blu-Rays of the old Filmation(I think?) Shazam cartoon series?

I just saw the Batman movie, with Jonah Hex. I’ve never seen much of the character before. Is there something more to Hex then ugly cowboy? If not… well no wonder the big screen movie flopped.

Also seems a shame they didn’t let Capt. Marvel stand on his own for his cartoon, instead being paired up with Superman—while I like Superman and Capt. Marvel a lot, would like to see Capt. Marvel and his cast function on their own in a modern production (instead of being the “Mets” to Superman’s “Yankees”). But I’ll be looking forward to the DVD anyway, especially since I haven’t seen any of the “old” shorts on it before… :-)
