True, it was something that bugged me about that episode. She was Sheldon’s friend, someone he had interacted with and liked well enough to give up HIS bed for. Which is a fairly startling thing for Sheldon who didn’t even want his own sister to stay with them.

Yet the entire episode she seemed to interact with everyone but Sheldon. Kind of odd I thought…

I figured they were playing to the geek fantasy by showing him getting a new encounter before she did, since that was completely unlikely (and rather unbelievable, based on that scientist character). And you’re right, we can criticize it and still find it funny.

Possibly, though they did have that episode quickly afterwards where Leonard slept with the nympho scientist. Which takes away any sympathy for him in the “she didn’t love me” category, since he basically slept with the next willing person.

Weird, it feels like I’m grouching about the show. Yet really its the funniest half hour on TV. Even my mom who is far from nerd culture and the like, finds the show hilarious and its one of the few shows we’ve ever been able to talk about.

You are probably right. And now Leonard can be bitchy towards her in some of his wisecracks with a plot reason.

I kind of suspect they got them together to just get the story over with. Its one of the few sitcoms that each episode is fairly stand alone. I don’t think theres been a single two part episode. Even one episode that had Raj going to work with Sheldon has now been forgotten. The only continuing plotline was Leonard’s infatuation with Penny, so they finally explored it and ended it.

Howard is pretty much so far removed into his creepiness that I can’t really do anything other than laugh at him (see last weeks episode).

Oh, the writers telegraphed the breakup with a sledgehammer. The question wasn’t why they broke up but why they ever got together, other than ratings bump.

Yeah, Howard’s a creep, but it’s thanks to Simon’s portrayal that he’s a sympathetic one.

I really liked the Bernadette character, and thought it was a shame that they wrote her out off screen. Maybe they bring her back as a love interest for Leonard?

I sort of saw the breakup coming for a while, too many instances of showing how different the characters were in just about every episode leading up to it.

I’m not sure what will happen with Sheldon/Penny. I don’t think any kind of relationship can happen any time even remotely soon. Yet I can see over time (thankfully this is a show that if it keeps leads happy can go on for a while) something happening as there is just a chemistry, but like you don’t know if it would be a physical one.

I’m still waiting to like the Howard character, Raj is weird but I can at least follow his story when he’s off on his own. Howard… I don’t know they tend to go for the creep factor a little too much when he’s on his own.
