November 11, 2010

Completing the first season — Batman: The Brave and the Bold Season One, Part One was released in August — Batman: The Brave and the Bold Season One, Part Two will be released on March 15, 2011.

Two discs will hold the following 13 episodes at a suggested retail price of $19.97 US. Batman is voiced by Diedrich Bader, doing a surprisingly great job, and guest stars include Aquaman, Plastic Man, Blue Beetle, Red Tornado, Green Arrow, Wildcat, Deadman, Bronze Tiger, and Atom.

  1. Mystery in Space!
  2. Trials of the Demons!
  3. Night of the Huntress!
  4. Menace of the Conqueror Caveman!
  5. The Color of Revenge!
  6. Legends of the Dark Mite!
  7. Hail the Tornado Tyrant!
  8. Duel of the Double Crossers!
  9. The Last Bat on Earth!
  10. When Omac Attacks!
  11. The Fate of Equinox!
  12. Mayhem of the Music Meister!
  13. Inside the Outsiders!

The high point is the Music Meister episode, with the musical villain played by Neil Patrick Harris. That one was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Music Composition for a Series (Original Dramatic Score). I’m really enjoying this show for its humor and old-fashioned homages. Recommended for young and old alike.

This is a great series. If this was released on Blu-Ray, I’d totally snatch it up…

I haven’t seen any Warner animation TV on Blu-ray — that’s only the original movies so far, I think?

I love B&TB. And as a fan of Uncle Sam and the Freedom Fighters, last nights episode was a dream come true. Hilarious! The scene where Uncle Sam giving Batmans costume a little “American Spirit” is not to be missed. I will be buying all the episodes.
