Johanna Says:

"...It can be expensive, but reading for a writer should be considered an investment in their career. In this case, literally, as a literary magazine is requiring a receipt for a book purchase from anyone submitting to them. It's a fascinating idea."

Interesting stuff.

Whenever I borrow books from my local libraries, the librarian or self-scanner prints out a receipt listing each title and due date.

Whenever I recommend that a local library purchase a book via its network's online catalog, I can opt to have an email copy of the request sent back to me (and then I can print it out if I wish).

Would that magazine accept either of these as proof of reading and of supporting the sales of literature...?
