Last Call for the One Piece Manga Moveable Feast

I should have mentioned this before now — but while today was technically the close of the One Piece Manga Moveable Feast, I hear that host David Welsh will accept entries a bit late.

I hope you’ve already read Ed Sizemore’s essay on the title, “When Holy Fools Become Pirates“, comparing One Piece to the classic American comic strip Peanuts. Me, I posted a review of the first book back in early 2006, before I really got manga, especially shonen (boys’) manga. I haven’t written anything new about the series because I wasn’t sure where to jump back in, nor was I sure I wanted to, given that the series is up to 60 (!) books and still going strong. For that reason, I’m in sympathy with Daniella Orihuela-Gruber’s contribution, “I Didn’t Read One Piece“. Then again, Katherine Dacey provides an excellent response with her “3 Reasons to Read One Piece“, using the classic list form to highlight some of the series’ strengths.

Also, be sure to check out the complete contribution listing — there’s a lot of good reading there.
