Pixar Stamps Due August 2011

Pixar stamps

The United States Postal Service has announced that they will be releasing five Pixar stamps (shown above) August 19, 2011.

They’re including my three favorites: Up, Ratatouille, and Wall-E, as well as the fan- and kid-favorite Cars and the latest released, Toy Story (but without Woody :( ). I’m surprised not to see The Incredibles included, though, since that’s the next big Blu-ray release, if I recall correctly, and I bet they’d look great on a stamp.

The lack of Woody is really odd, but I guess Buzz sells more toys.

I’m very pleasantly surprised by Ratatouille.

I can’t believe there’s not a Finding Nemo one. I’m surprised by Up but I’m biased because I honestly couldn’t stand it.

James…have you no HEART?! ;)

I think I would have preferred they use the Incredibles over Cars. Cars is my least favorite Pixar film. I still own the Blu-Ray of course…but my least favorite.

Cars seems to me to skew younger than the other Pixars. While most of their films are truly enjoyable for all ages, Cars doesn’t seem as appealing to adults but is wildly popular with kids (and has a ton of merchandise as a result).
