I really love Project Superpowers and all the PS spin offs like Madame Masque, Daredevil and Black Terror. Even though the interior art alternates between decent and so-so, it's a entertaining and ambitious attempt to create a new and fairly original Superhero universe populated solely by defunct Golden Age characters.

But I really don't care for any of their other books. I tried hard with Buck Rodgers but I just couldn't get into it. I tried with the new John Carter Warlord as well (since the first issue was only a buck)but couldn't get into that either.

I think Dynamites Avengers/Invaders series had a lot of promise, but instead of doing a stand alone story it got tangled in the godawful mess that was Civil War.

I'm one of those journalists who went from writing articles about comics to writing comics. I can only speak for myself, but at no point did I scheme, "I really want to write comics, so I'm going to ingratiate myself by writing about the industry for a while first." I'm a journalist, and sometimes we get to write about things we like in our personal lives: movies, food, comics, music, etc. For me it was comics. And after more than a decade writing about comics for my newspaper and magazines and webzines, I got the itch to try writing comics. And after studying scriptwriting and comic-book mechanics for more than a year, I started pitching. Eventually, I got work. And then more work. And that led to this second/simultaneous career for me. I bet it's the same thing for Matt, and I wish him good luck.
