I’m hoping someone does a paper on Black Jack comparing the changes in medical treatments since the manga first appeared to todays’ practices. Also, you could do a look at the changes in instruments.

Did this remind anyone else of Burma Chronicles by Guy Delisle? He went there because his wife works for MSF France and he includes a lot in the book about their mission.

Also, at one point in Burma he illustrated a health ed booklet for young children who have HIV (“Minile and Her Angels” is the translation of the Burmese title, I think, and the “angels” are the T-cells) for MSF Holland.
