So this was how the premiere was like for you. I have no plans to ever watch this movie, but your comment on your nephew and his gf’s opinion is quite similar to how my sis and friend felt when they saw the dubbed Blood+ live action. I guess as an action movie Gantz sold right? I am looking much more forward to Kenichi Matsuyama’s adaptation for Bunny Drop! Kazunari Ninomiya for his film representation for Ooku, although I would watch Ooku for Shibassaki Kou’s role as the Queen instead. Random movie/manga comments, since I believe this is my first time reading of a movie review from you. ^_^

At last someone with a nice premier review!
I doubt Gantz will be released in my country at all, but if they do release it, they will most certainly have it subtitled.

I totally agree about the dub. It totally stunk. I would love to see it subtitled; I found it demeaning to know that the actors had to listen to other people’s voices coming in over their own.

But it was a really fun event; I watched in El Paso TX. Most of the crowd seemed to be male Gantz manga readers or otaku. Very few women. But I have sincere hopes that Japanese movies will get more audience and more respect in the U.S. with an opening like this!
