Instead of spending hundreds of dollars on the full version of Poser 3-D modeling software, now there’s a much cheaper option.
Smith Micro Software has just released Poser Debut, a consumer-level starter package for under $50. They promise it “makes 3D animation fun and easy with helpful step-by-step Project Guide tutorial videos, streamlined features, and tons of ready-to-use content — over 70 ready-to-pose characters with a wide variety of clothing, props, cameras, and lights that help users quickly create entire scenes on the virtual stage.” They also suggest more traditional artists can use the tools as models to view texture, lighting, and perspective for final sketches.
Now anyone can become a 3-D cartoon creator — so watch for lots of lookalike material coming soon!
