James,

I was thinking the same thing about Trouble.

Venus was in the Agents of Atlas series that was recently canceled. Rocket Racoon was dusted off by Abnett and Lanning and was put in Guardians of the Galaxy. He's now featured in a back up story in The Annihilators.

Is it bad that the Trouble comic sounds SO bad, that I want to read it for laughs?

I have never even heard of those two Marvel characters that the archive are of. They are appearing in current series?

I may see if my library can get them on interlibrary loan though.

It's true, that's a neat side effect -- but if you don't buy them when they're offered, there's no guarantee they'll be around in the future. I do wish Marvel didn't treat its books like periodicals.

While I don't see the decision to release "Trouble" as a lucrative one for Marvel, I have to say that I love how they will release anything and everything as a tpb. Because that means that for every trade of something like "Trouble"(which for all I know has a following that thinks it's awesome) there's a trade of something like Gerbers "Omega the Unknown"(which I think is awesome) or some other obscure mini series or cancelled comic series that I loved.

I also think that that Masterworks edition of Venus just might be the coolest thing ever released by Marvel for 2011. That release, hopefully, will open the door for marvels comedy romance titles such as Patsy, Hedy, Greer and all the others. Although it probably has more to do with Venus being in Agents of Atlas.

And then I look over at DC who don't even put Archives out any more and are cutting back on trades in general.

Make mine Marvel (at least when it comes to obscure tpb collections) ;)
