I can see Batman solving a case anywhere, but Adam in Gotham sounds to me like a chicken in a fox’s den.

I’m too late for the contest, but I wanted to mention an old Brave & Bold story where he teamed up with Adam Strange — Adam swapped places with Batman in Gotham while Batman had to solve a murder on Rann!

Thank you all for sharing your teamups! I have emailed the winner. So many great memories, and suggestions for ones I haven’t read or seen yet. I tend to agree with those who said Batman and Scooby-Doo, because it’s just such a crazy idea that’s become a classic. But almost anything from the cartoon works for me, too. (Bonus points to John for a cute kid story!) Thanks very much to all of you for reading and participating.

Batman and Spawn teamed up in a mystery related to the disappearance of the Colony on Roanoke Island. As a 12 year old, I couldn’t have imagined anything better than that story. Luckily, I haven’t looked at recently, I imagine it wouldn’t hold up.

From way back in the seventies it was a meeting between Batman and Cain, host of the House of Mystery. Very unusual in how they never really met but Cain kept narrating and making his barbs just like he did in the mystery anthologies.

I’m going to go with the Batman/Plastic Man/Freedom Fighters team up on Batman: Brave and Bold. Not only did it feature my 7-year-old’s now-favorite character, Plastic Man and make her laugh at loud, but gave me a chance to explain some American history to her (making her laugh even harder that Plas was so confused), and gave us both a new version

I believe there was an episode of Batman:TAS in which Harley Quinn asked for Batman’s help. I may be misremembering that, simply because Harley Quinn is one of my favorite characters in Batman lore.

I also loved the Greg Rucka series “Gotham Central”. Detective Rene Montoya may never have directly teamed up with Batman, but they certainly worked on the same cases. That counts in my mind!

Wow, several other people mentioned Batman and Scooby-Doo – yeah, I watched that one with my older son when he was just a little guy. Now he’s a father …! Zoinks indeed!

When I was a teenager, I thought that Velma was the best Scooby-Doo character … she kinda looked like me, only cuter.
