Next week, Viz Kids brings the adorable bean dogs of Mameshiba to the U.S. On July 5, they release both a graphic novel and a character guide.

Meet Mameshiba! ($6.99, 96 pages) introduces Edamame, Tiger Bean, Chili Bean, and their friends, including the new Lima Bean and Black-Eyed Pea, created for the U.S. (I figured that last, a Southern classic, had to be for us!)

Mameshiba: On the Loose ($6.99, 80 pages) is a collection of color one-page comics in which they “rescue friends and explore outer space”. All without visible limbs! They also love to share trivia.
