To promote the new Torchwood: Miracle Day series, after a two-year pause, Starz, the new show producer, has two special offers.

The first is $25 cash back if you subscribe to the premium channel. You’ll get a refund check after you subscribe for three months. My provider charges $12.99 a month for Starz, so that’s like paying for one month and getting two more free.

But if you’re not sure yet that you want to subscribe, Starz has also announced that they will be streaming the first episode online beginning July 8 at 12:01 AM. (It’ll be available through August 21.) Torchwood: Miracle Day debuts on TV Friday, July 8, at 10 PM ET/PT. In the UK, the show will air six days later, on July 14, which is causing some concern, and the versions will be slightly different, due to different broadcast standards.

That’s pretty standard for a movie channel, from what I can tell. And hey, if you watch four movies a month, it’s a good deal — unless you compare to Redbox. :)

Starz is a combo of 6 themed movie networks. And some carriers package Encore and Starz together. It varies by cable company and location so be sure to check.

…that’s rather an unfortunate arrangement of the cast photo, with Gwen apparently aiming at the back of Jack’s head.

The photo on the site has her much more sensibly placed in the left of the shot.
