As my wife’s in NYC right now, that’s the gift I’m gonna ask her to bring home to me in Brazil. And I’m already looking forward to Gottfredson’s stories from the early 50′s. Those were real great stuff.

Yeah, after a lifetime of kiddy mouse, this material actually surprised me when I was first exposed to it. It’s great cartooning on top of that.

Great review! I’ve still got my issues of “The Uncensored Mouse” from the late 80s. Those issues have some of the material from this volume I believe. I know it has some of the Treasure Island stuff. Lots of racial stereotyping with the island natives. But yeah, this stuff is awesome.

Sounds like a nice book…

Clarabelle Cow seems to have made a comeback in recent years—she was used in the early 2000s cartoon “House of Mouse” as a regular character, and also usually appears on Disney Channel’s “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse” (a “Dora the Explorer”-like CGI series for preschoolers)…
