The first three DVD releases of Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated have been simple, four-episode discs labeled “Season 1 Volume X”. Now, via TV Shows on DVD, comes word that Warner is changing its release strategy.
Unfortunately, it isn’t to a complete season set, as older fans have been hoping. “Season 1 Part 2″ will contain the second 14 episodes from Season 1 in a two-DVD set. (14 plus the 12 released so far make 26.) My first question was “what is Part 1?” Apparently, Volumes 1-3 are being considered Part 1. I hope there will be a corresponding multi-disc release with that label, but I can’t predict what the studio will do.
Part 2 will be available on January 24 at a suggested retail price of $19.97.
