Two Worthwhile Comic Exhibits: Blink Art and the Comics Code

If you’re in Columbus, Ohio, there’s an exhibit of comic art from Max Ink’s Blink at Wild Goose Creative (2491 Summit Street). He’ll be showing 33 pages from the new chapter, entitled “Wonka Wonka Kochalka”, of the next Blink graphic novel, So It Goes.

In addition to the exhibit, there’s a reception on Thursday, March 15, and an evening with live music on Friday, March 30, to celebrate the book’s release, as well as a charity raffle. Find out more at the event’s website.

If you’re in Baltimore, Maryland, the Special Collections Department of the Albin O. Kuhn Library at the University of Maryland – Baltimore County is featuring a display titled, “All Lurid, Unsavory, Gruesome Illustrations Shall Be Eliminated: The Comics Code as seen through the UMBC Comics Collection”. The exhibit is on display until May 16; it’s open week-daily from 1-4 and Thursdays from 1-8. Here’s a gallery of pictures showing some of the items, including undergrounds, graphic novels, and original art pages.
