It occurred to me after watching the first Iron Man movie that the reason I can never take Terrence Howard seriously as an actor is the fact that I think he sounds exactly like Tiger Tornado.

I had no idea that Larry Storch was the voice of Phineas J. Whoopee! Storch's voice is always so distinctive that I can usually pick him out even when he's doing an imitation, but he managed to get that one past me. Phineas J. Whoopee, you're still the greatest!

I enjoyed watching "Tennessee Tuxedo" as a kid, too...

Yes, some of the information Mr. Whoopee taught is now dated (such as how a black-and-white CRT TV set works)---though some of the information, such as how rockets work (in one episode) is still OK. The "best of" single-disc DVD that came out a few years ago had an amusing update---Mr. Whoopee on the disc explains how a DVD works. :-)

Wonder if they'll come out with a disc of "King Leonardo," which did air in reruns in my area on Sunday mornings.

Barney, what an interesting discovery! Thanks for sharing that.

John, oooh, that sheds a new light on things! Always glad to meet another Eyebeam fan.

And thanks, Mitchell, for that correction.

I remember King Leonardo and Itchy Brother, watching it after school in the 1960s. Itchy was a stereotypical beatnik, maybe with shades and a beret. Hip lingo. The scratching was probably intended as part of his cool beatnik persona, but constant scratching was apparently one of the signs of heroin use. That's right, kids, Itchy Brother was a junkie!

I found this site on a search for "Eyebeam", one of the five or so greatest comic strips of all time.

“Monster from Another Planet” being short is actually a quality control problem, the entire cartoon is on the disc but can only be viewed whole by watching the disc in 'play all' instead of as an individual episode.
