I thought the movie should have ended with the test screen on the television, or with Dodge listening to the records by himself. It would have been a much more poignant ending.

Allowing Penny to to spend the end with her family was the ultimate act of love on Dodge’s part and (IMO) I would have preferred the film to end with Dodge in his apartment alone. I felt that the ending we got was tacked on to give it a “happy end”.

I did love the soundtrack though! Great use of Bacharach & Herb Alpert’s “This Guy’s In Love With You.”
