The Looney Tunes Super Stars line of character-focused cartoon DVDs — which has covered so far Pepé Le Pew, Foghorn Leghorn, Tweety and Sylvester, Road Runner & Wile E. Coyote, Daffy Duck, and of course Bugs Bunny — is continuing in November with Porky & Friends.
There are 18 cartoons, a full 16 of which are new to DVD (great for animation fans, who hate double-dipping) and 12 of which star Porky. Sean Gaffney has a detailed rundown, pointing out that we also get some cartoons with Elmer Fudd, one of Bobo the Elephant, and two with “Bunny and Claude”, a rabbit parody of Bonnie and Clyde. Really? I had no idea Warner was doing that kind of thing in the late 60s. Apparently, they’re not very good, but I’m sure the historians are happy to have them available.
