Comics Entertainment has posted a sweepstakes contest where the winner gets all of this month’s zero issues and a copy of the hardcover DC Comics: The New 52 omnibus. It’s a nifty promo for their “zero month”, and I understand that they have to wait for all the books to be published before giving them away, but I can’t imagine a “comic completionist” (as they’re billing the giveaway) waiting that long to read the issues.
Entries are due by October 1. Entering puts you on their electronic mailing list to get updates from DC and Warner Bros. Only U.S. residents are eligible. You can enter daily, if you want. Intriguingly, the only question they ask beyond your contact information and demographics is whether you read comics in print, digitally, or both. That’s what everyone’s curious about, right?
The official rules state the approximate retail value of the prize as $165, which I can’t figure out — the book itself has a list price of $150, so are they saying an entire month of DC comics is worth $15? The rules also state that they’ll be notifying winners on October 11.
