I enjoyed this movie as well, when I saw it in the theater a few months ago (in fact, here's another one of my comic reviews: http://www.theblabbingbaboon.com/?m=20120619)

I'm sure it was a conscious effort on the writer's part, but I thought it was pretty sad to see though over a hundred years has past, rights for women, especially when it comes to their own bodies, hasn't changed much. When the film came out, the Sandra Fluke "controversy" was still lingering in the news and I'm sure I wasn't the only one who to see the similarities in the additives given towards the rights of women.

The subject matter of the film led to this personal, funny situation at the theater I went to: http://www.theblabbingbaboon.com/?m=20120620
