I’m sure it was a conscious effort on the writer’s part, but I thought it was pretty sad to see though over a hundred years has past, rights for women, especially when it comes to their own bodies, hasn’t changed much. When the film came out, the Sandra Fluke “controversy” was still lingering in the news and I’m sure I wasn’t the only one who to see the similarities in the additives given towards the rights of women.
