The last episode of Manga Out Loud has been posted, and we’re going out with a bang. Ed assembled a stellar group of guests — Tezuka experts Frederik Schodt, Helen McCarthy, and Ada Palmer — to discuss the recent release of Osamu Tezuka’s Barbara from Digital Manga Publishing. They also cover the way the book was funded through Kickstarter and go on to praise Wandering Son while discussing that title’s subscription model through Fantagraphics.
Since I haven’t read Barbara, I didn’t have much to say during that segment, but Ed and I concluded the podcast with some additional notes (we begin around the hour-and-a-half mark).
I’m spoiling the announcement, but after three years, this will be the last episode of Manga Out Loud. You can listen to the final minutes to hear why, but while I’m here, thank you to everyone who listened, and my deepest gratitude to Ed for starting it and allowing me to participate. I’ll miss it terribly.Similar Posts: Manga Out Loud Discusses Princess Knight § Manga Out Loud Discusses NYAF § Bonus Manga Out Loud Podcast Discussing DMP’s Barbara Kickstarter § Manga Out Loud Continues With New Format, Natsume Ono MMF Discussion § Wandering Son on Manga Out Loud
