Shout! Factory continues its run of bringing obscure fan-favorite films to Blu-ray with its newest announcement: Timerider, a 1982 science fiction action pic co-written and produced by Michael Nesmith, who also provides the music.
Timerider: The Adventure of Lyle Swann stars Fred Ward as a motorcyclist who’s accidentally sent back in time and winds up in a Western. Belinda Bauer and Peter Coyote also appear. I’m curious to see it again, since I have fond memories of it but I don’t remember the details. The plot description says that Ward’s motorcycle gets stolen by outlaws, so he has to try and recover it to get back to the future.
The Blu-ray release date is March 19. Special features on this Shout! release include audio commentary by director and co-writer William Dear (Harry and the Hendersons); interviews with Nesmith and Dear; and a storyboard gallery.
