Good Comics Out April 3

Been a long while since I’ve done one of these, but there are a couple of books I want to recommend this week.

Top of the stack is the new printing of Superman: Secret Identity (DC, $19.99) by Kurt Busiek and Stuart Immonen. It’s a crime that such a wonderful story has been so hard to find while out of print — it’s an impressive, inspiring story of heroism that I hope everyone reads.

In a different direction is the eighth volume of the “My Boyfriend Is a Monster” series: A Match Made in Heaven (Graphic Universe, $9.95). This one’s about an angel and a girl who makes graphic novels, as you might expect when written by comic legend Trina Robbins.

Issue-wise, the second volume of Princeless kicks off with issue #1 (Action Lab, $3.99). It’s a little late, but it’s worth the wait, with plenty of fun all-ages action.

I’m also curious about The Last of Us: American Dreams #1. I don’t know anything about the video game (nor do I care to), but it’s by Faith Erin Hicks, and it’s about a girl fighting back at boarding school, the kind of topic she’s handled well in the past.
