KC Remembers Flo’s Big Apple Comix

In his latest Westfield column, KC remembers another Comic That Time Forgot: Big Apple Comix, an early underground published by Flo Steinberg. The anthology included contributions from such notables as Wally Wood, Al Williamson, Paul Kirchner, Herb Trimpe, Neal Adams, and Larry Hama, all contributing stories about New York City.

It’s a neat writeup about a strange interaction between “mainstream” and alternative comics. This particular panel by Wood shows that, in forty years, not much has changed in terms of attitudes about fans:
