Two Comic Kickstarters Worth Buying: Sleep of Reason, Autobiographical Conversations

The Sleep of Reason cover

Spike, the genius behind Poorcraft and Smut Peddler, has another Kickstarter. This time, it’s a horror anthology with an astounding creative lineup and her usual “you pay more, the artists get more” bonus levels. The Sleep of Reason is over halfway funded after only two days, but there are plenty of rewards, including prints, original art commissions, and handmade monster dolls.

Autobiographical Conversations page

If you’d like something a bit more down-to-earth, not as fantastical, Ryan Claytor is looking to publish his Autobiographical Conversations, a comic about the theory of autobiographical comics. I read a version of this a couple years back, and it was good. You can see some early samples at his website. It’s already funded, so think of it as preordering a nifty book, one unlike many others.

(I know that the last few times I’ve done this, they haven’t all technically been Kickstarters, but it’s quickly becoming the generic term for crowd-funding.)
