The Wolverine comes to home video on December 3 in three editions:
If you want to buy the digital edition, that becomes available weeks earlier on November 19. I liked the movie, in large part due to Hugh Jackman’s performance, so I’ll be looking to own a copy.
The Blu-ray versions will work with a Second Screen app featuring concept art and bonus materials. They also feature “The Path of the Ronin – an immersive feature following the journey of a hero without a past”, an alternate ending, the theatrical trailer, and a set tour from the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past. The Extended Edition will include commentary by director James Mangold on the extended cut only.
Although the list prices are all $10 apart — $30 for DVD, $40 for Blu-ray, $50 for four-disc special edition — it’s surprising to me that Amazon has the first two only a dollar apart (as I write this), while the deluxe pack can be had for an extra $5. All are under the $30 mark, showing what a game release pricing can be.
