KC’s Previews for July 2014

KC’s latest Westfield column is his monthly look at what’s in the current Previews catalog for purchase of upcoming items, due in July or later, through comic shops. Glad to see the Captain Carrot and His Amazing Zoo Crew Showcase is finally coming out. While I was proofing, we almost had an argument over the Alias Omnibus, by the way.

Reading these columns, I find myself wondering, how can the catalog be getting bigger and bigger all the time?!? It’s ever more difficult to pick good choices, particularly when you’re trying to figure out what you’re going to feel like reading in two (or many more, in some cases) months.

I have never heard of Jack Katz, but the cover looks interesting and KC’s description sounds neat.

LOL on ALIAS and you and KC, I like the Jessica character a lot, especially when she appeared in other series. The main series itself was a rough go for me but maybe it gets better late. (which I’ve never read)

Which is kind of similar to how I wonder about the Captain Marvel collection. I like the character, but wonder if her original issues are worth reading, or just sort of historical interesting.

I loved The Graveyard Book story, seeing it in GN form should be a real treat.

I need to try Little Nemo at some point, especially with the new series coming that looks so interesting. I really need to finish reading the Nexus comics I have too. Thanks KC! Some fun stuff coming out it seems.

The original Captain Marvel issues have at least one infamous story, that I know of, where she’s basically brainwashed into going off with a supervillain who’s got a crush on her. Creepy. So I’m not going to read backwards on that.

    Glad you liked the column!

Ewwwwthat doesn’t sound very promising. I really don’t know a lot about the character as for the longest she was just the character Rogue stole her powers from. ( to me)

I Ike her character, what I’ve read of her n the past year. Though don’t think the stories themselves have done a lot to make her shine. Maybe I’ll just go back and look at some of the Ms. Marvel stuff. Bit more modern I’m guessing, and seems to be popular. Though her costume in it looks tacky. (Reminds me of Lauren Gand in LSH v4. )

Oh and thanks to you as well Johanna, didn’t mean to just since out KC! Does Westfield have a feed or something? I’d like to read the Bob Greenberger pieces KC mentioned are coming.
