It’s not many aspiring manga artists who get a chance to work in the real field. Jamie Lynn Lano did, spending time as an assistant on the Japanese manga The Prince of Tennis in 2008. Now, she’s written a book about her experiences. The Princess of Tennis is available for preorder. It will release on June 15 and come with an ebook copy.
It’s taken from her series of blog posts on the subject, so you can get a preview online. Jamie describes the book as “the rewritten, illustrated, and expanded edition that was ultimately two years in the making. Join with Jamie as she tentatively sends in her application to Shueisha, expecting nothing, and finds herself in a variety of catastrophes and learns that working on a bestselling manga is both tiring and emotional at the same time!”Similar Posts: The DC Comics Encyclopedia, Updated and Expanded § Where to Go Next for More Sports Manga § Looking Up Available to Order § Space-Faring Manga Out Loud: A Podcast Roundtable on Twin Spica § Viz Launches Cross Game With Omnibus, Free Anime
