What Did You Eat Yesterday? Returns in May

What Did You Eat Yesterday?, Fumi Yoshinaga’s series about the everyday life of a gay couple, is one of my favorite manga. I love her art, and I love the way the stories revolve around food and cooking and meals together as signs of feelings, and I love getting new ideas about how to assemble meals or prepare Japanese dishes.

There have been nine volumes released so far in English from Vertical, with the most recent coming out last July. I was a little worried about the future of the series, since it doesn’t have a popular anime tie-in or a gaggle of harem girls to attract huge sales. It’s such a good read, though, that I was thrilled to notice today that Amazon has listed volume 10 as being available in May.

As always, if you know you like the series, preorders through your favorite retailer help demonstrate demand and assist publishers in setting print runs. There’s an eleventh volume in Japan out as well, so I’m glad to have hopes for more beyond this next book.
